AmiCloud

  4. This is a google translation:
    Bonjour 🙂

    English:
    Bonjour : ) (well this is a word I know : ) )
AmiCloud is available for AmigaOS 3 (with RTG) and AmigaOS4.x .
If you buy it for one OS like AmigaOS, you can install it on as many Amigas you like. If you buy it again for Windows you can install it on as many PC’s you like.

So if you own 3 MorphOS machines, 2 Windows machines and 2 AmigaOS machines you would need to buy:
    1x AmiCloud for Windows
    1x AmiCloud for AmigaOS
    1x AmiCloud for MorphOS
    Number of computers is unlimited.
Right not it would be 15€ (3×5€). Next month the price will be 10€.

    Bye : )

  5. Hi,

amicloud synchronizes your Folder with your cloud storage.
Excactly as dropbox. Those files are synched on all Computers using the same AmiCloud user account.

If you delete one file on one Computer, the other Computers will recognize this and ask you if you wan’t to delete the local copy as well or if you wan’t to Keep it. Another Option is to upload it again to the cloud.

So you get local backups on any of your Computers.
Files which are uploaded to the cloud can be shared with others.
AmiCloud creates a public URL to the file and copies this to your clipboard. With Amiga+V you can paste this URL.

See the Video where I embedd a Picture on Amiga World:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df48jrGt3Vs&feature=youtu.be

So you put a file in your synch Folder -> it will be uploaded to the cloud -> than it will be downloaded by all your Computers.
If you delete it on one Computer -> it will be deleted on cloud-> other Computers will ask if they shall delete the local copy or not or if they should re-upload the file to the cloud.

Sorry but I can’t answer in French.

It is Handy.. Imagine you store some apps or adf in this Folder.
Next time you install AROS or AROS Vision or AmigaOS OS you can Launch AmiCLoud to get those files downloaded directly..
Also if you wan’t to share Images or files with friends you can create public URLs downloadable from a web-browser.

  6. Hi,
cozy got 1Mio$ funding.. If I would have such a Budget I would offer a bit more than this : )

The difference between AmiCloud to dropox Icloud and whatever is:
    No traffic Limitation
Most Services have a traffic Limitation and some also a Limit of Maximum Post/GET per day.
Right now AmiCloud is still in beta. Whoever buys the Client during beta will get twice the storage of what will be later “normal storage”.

So if Basic storage after beta is 2GB, than beta testers will get 4GB
If normal storage is 5GB than beta testers will get 10GB.

We are still in early stage. It will depend on success how we can acct ; )

  9. Hi,
a cloud saves ressources and energy. The more People “share” something (in this case comouters with Harddrives), the less individually stuff needs to be produced. Instead of producing 1000x Harddrive,CPU and whatever in our case 1000 People use 1 Server.

    Logical..

About security… sure.. I would never store a patent info or anything on a external Server. I agree.
But I have tons of Images and Information I would like to share with others anyway or are not important for hackers and so I don’t care about Maximum security. On the other Hand I believe that our Server are more secury than 99% of you devices you run at home.

  11. The new AmiCloud client is now available for
    AROS i386 (10€)
    AmigaOS3 (with RTG) (10€)
    AmigaOS4 (10€)
    Windows (10€)
    Linux i386 (5€)
    Linux PPC (5€)
    OSX PPC (5€)
    OSX Intel (5€)
    MorphOS (10€)

    Changelog:
    ::: CHANGELOG (Beta 03b) :::
    [ AmiCloud Client ]
    – Added AmiCloud banner

    [ AmiCloud manager ]
    – Enhanced the way the debug output is delivered and activated, now you can configure
the debug output editing the files:
    – appdata/debug_acm.txt
    – appdata/debug_amicloud.txt
These files are plain text files with lot of comments and descriptions to explain
    each available options.
    – Taken into account the server answer time to compesate timing errors and avoiding
unecessary synchronizations. These problems was noticed on very slow Internet
connections and/or when Internet bandwidth was used by other applications.
    – Ignored (from synchornization) files starting with a dot (.) to avoid unwanted
synchronization of hidden/system files. This was mainly needed for Linux and MacOSX
    host systems.
    – Basic storage is now 2GB for beta testers
